Just 4 weeks to go…

.. to the Ironman 70.3 WC in Mont Tremblant (canada). The past three weeks since my series of races have passed rather quickly. One of the reasons was probably my heavy engagement in the organization of a Film festival for which we reduced my training to a regeneration pensum. I turned back to normal this week; however, I had to euthanize my last remaining cat 🙁 An empty house after 14 years gives my psychic grief than I would have thought, but I am getting better every single day.

What was/is on the agenda
It was planned earlier this year, that I am participating at the ITU Crosstriathlon World-Champs in Zittau (Germany, 15-17.8.14) which has been cancelled two weeks ago from my side. Due to my traveling, the festival and the highlight in Canada I decided finally – with my coach – that I am neither able to focus 100% on this right now, nor having had the necessary preparation on the Mountainbike. It would have been a rather nice experience to race in the colors and suit of your country, however, my Priority and seasonal highlight remains crystal clear the 70.3 WC; you can’t have everything in live.

Instead I decided – on a short-call – to run a solo 10k which I just love to do J. My desired date (Sunday 10.8) unveiled the “Kirchweihlauf” in Roth. Goal would be to crack the magic “sub40”; i.e. running under 40min. Certainly very ambitioned as I haven’t done any specific speed work, having hard bike kilometers in my legs and the temperatures don’t promise fast splits. However, definitely an attempt worth J I will fight – as always 🙂 My old official best (42.17′ – March 2013) should at least drop …
