25.05 – Feel’s good…

.. after the first proper ‘re-entry’ training weekend. In addition to long bike splits I had the first intense running sessions for more than 3 months on the program, which are for me personally always the best form-indicator: On the one hand a 40minute threshold run , on the other 6 * 1000m speed-intervals. However, the latter only in endurance-level 2; i.e. to have some room for “all-out”. The times were fantastic: The threshold run ended in 9.25km (4.19min/kmh) (only 4” per k slower than the last on February 20th), for the 1000er intervals, the clock stopped between 3.49 and 3.55 minutes (3.53min on average). Very awesome and this after a 125km bike ride, incl. Watt-Intervals and a short & crisp adjacent run the day before …
And casually I did swim a new PB over 800m (-2′.30” to last year). This is pure euphoria, for the beginning…

To remain grounded though, I am still not 100% symptom-free. Inexplicable pain at the right abdominal area, which are sometimes more, sometimes less disturbing and – especially – just annoying. As academic medicine clarified everything without results and the bloodwork is ok, I now give it a try with osteopathy. There is somewhere still an error in the system. Excluded is also definitely, that the problems occur from the right kidney (also stones), which is why I have to undergone further surgeries in autumn (no acute treatment needed!). Until then, I want to enjoy the next 5 months of summer and hope that one or the other great race jumps out (though, there is still no concrete race schedule yet :-))

And so, that I do not get bored, I rediscovered the absolute joy and pleasure in tennis. During my school years I played intensively over 2-3 years – if I was not in handball training. Now, after more than 21 years, an attempt was made again made, which went really well. I was even asked if I could imagine to entry into the team … Well, for that, my serve is simply (yet) too bad and on the other hand I have with Triathlon competition enough. I like to play tennis to exploit myself on a different way, to clear my head and in addition, this sports fosters concentration, reaction and serenity!
