10km „Carnival“-Run …
.. at February 15, in the winterly Munich. Start was on time at 11am onto the 5km lap through the Olympic Park, which has to be completed twice. The 10km run is an „additional product” of the Winterlaufserie Munich, which had today with its 20km the final run.
12 days from now, my first major competition in 2015 takes place with the Challenge Dubai. Today’s race another tempo session in the general good ongoing training program 🙂 I didn’t expect too much, i.e. a new PB, as it was with -1Grad quite fresh and the lap is slightly bumpy!
Initially two strong runners of the LG Stadtwerke München pulled away as expected; the eventual winner, Isabelle Heers, was already off sight as of km4. Passing into the second round I was eight seconds behind to the – at that time – runner-up Elisabeth Haas. I didn’t want to have that lag increased! However, it came differently: Shortly after km9 – I was very close – we came to the famous small ascent, where I sensed my chance and was able to pass. I then didn’t want to give up the hard-won 2nd place and fought, for better for worse, very hard on the last k – and trained my stamina 🙂 So, after 40.07min – though with a new personal best ( -33sekunden ) – I crossed more than HaPpY the Finish Line with 9 seconds up-front.
Very happy as well about the 2nd Place of my TriTeam FFB team mate Paul Günther who completed the 20k in 1.10,32h. With that result he secured himself the overall Victory in the Series 2014/15. Chaupeu!
Four more intensive training days, then Wellness with Mum and then off to Dubai; with 30C cosy warm 🙂
