07.06 – 2. Formtest (Run) – Cityrun Augsburg
After successfully testing the bike form last week at the Team Baier Cycling Festival, I went today to the 10.5km Cityrun in Augsburg to check the running form under race conditions. I used, this long weekend with a national Holiday again for an intense training weekend, the last tempo run over 10km on Thursday went again very well in 41.50minutes.
That’s what I wanted to build up on in Augsburg and to call up on the “usual” competitive performance over the 10km distance of around >4min per km. Sunday morning I got to feel also the cycling and swimming units of the past few days; luckily start was scheduled only for 10.30am, so I had time to wake up and mobilize 🙂 In glorious summer temperatures around 25 degrees, which makes running fun, but for personal bests nevertheless tedious, I had to forget the envisaged time rather quickly. The first two Km went still well, but then I wanted to somehow just stop every single meter. But since I was in the lead from the start, I did it somehow – no idea how – pulled through and thus made the 1st place (w) and 15th overall. Oh, yes the time: 42.33min (4.05min/km), at least faster than the training run 🙂
Now I am mentally and physically very well-equipped for my “real” season start next week at the Triathlon in Ingolstadt. I’m going to race the sprint distance with 750mswim, 20km bike and a 4.6km run, over which the German Championships are held at the same time.
