31.5 – 1. Formcheck Bike at Team Baier Radsportfestival

Eventually, it is always the first time :-). Today my first bike race at the 9th Team Baier cycling festival in Buch am Erlbach. Unfortunately I am not in possession of an official bike license, hence I “had to” start at the hobby race over 5 laps, 7.9km and 94 meters altitude difference each (i.e. total 39.5km and 470a.d.). Together with 26 other competitors (all male) the race was on at 8am. I did well in the “Shark Tank” (quote Race Director), took the race controlled without gambling and above all very constant: each lap in a time of 15.34min-15.49min and a normalized power *) of 191Watt!

However, after 300 meters, I was but already the last driver, but could then collect a bunch of guys in the course of the race and was 20th in the end – and logically first female 🙂 I am very happy with the performance.

Next week I am performing my first run test at the STadtlauf Augsburg before I am heading to my first triathlon (14.6 German Championships Sprint in Ingolstadt). Looking forward to !

*) Normalized Power is basically an estimate of the power that you could have maintainted for the same physiological “cost” if your power output had been constant
